7. Add and Space the Ads on Your Blog wisely and neatly

You should add your ads wisely and neatly so as to look clean and simple. The key to make money from a blog is from the advertising you add on the blog and it should be placed on a site by using many different advertising sources and space them out so they don’t look too much crowded. It is possible to place tons of ads on your page and still have it a clean and a nice look for your readers. Because if the readers think that the page is only full of ads he will immediately click out of the page.

Another key is to use many different types of ads. 20 to 30 banners on a page looks really ridiculous and too much crowded of ads but instead you will mix it up with banners, text links, affiliate stuff, etc., you can still maintain fairly good, clean, nice and readable page for your readers.

If you do decide to generate income from your blog, then don’t be shy about it. If you’re going to put up ads, then really put up ads. Doesn’t just stick tiny little ad square in a remote corner somewhere but spread it evenly. If you’re going to request donations, then really request donations. Don’t put up a barely visible “Donate” link and pray for the best. If you’re going to sell products, then really sell them. Create or acquire the best quality products you can, and give your visitors compelling reasons to buy. If you’re going to do this, then fully commit to it.

8. Adding Videos and Pictures

Adding videos and pictures related to your blog’s topic will add more attraction to your blog. You can search for you-tube videos for adding to the blog. By adding some nice and attractive pictures and videos to your post you will attract more visitors to your site as the videos act as a life to a blog. Also the readers come to know that how creative you are.

If you want to connect more with your readers and keep them interested, try adding pictures to your blog. Adding pictures is simple through your blogging software. Get a digital camera if you don’t already own one so you can update your pictures frequently. By adding pictures that go along best with the content of your posts, you will be connecting with your readers on a more intense level. They will be more entertained and you will have a more interesting blog. Just be sure that you don’t overdo it on the pictures. Place them in appropriate places and don’t use massive pictures or else you might take the risk of having a blog that take ten minutes to load. Do be sure that you use close-ups however.

9. Do Not Just Copy

Place a well furnished and some good matter of yours on it and take a look that you are not just copying your matter from other blog or site and pasting on your blog. You should not just be copy cat but you should express your own new and attractive ideas, which can make your readers, enjoy reading it.

You can of course copy some of the matter from other blogs you like and re write in your own words and add some more articles to it, to make it look new for your readers and search engines. Search Engines can also ban your site for being a copy cat. Also many of the advertisers like Adsense also disable the account for being so.

10. Check Your Post before Publishing

Most of the blogger I come across seem to have this problem of not checking their post when they have written down anything new, and just posting it immediately. You should always check for the mistakes you made during writing a post like spellings, punctuation etc. This can irritate the readers and have negative effect on your blog. So confirm that you have rechecked the article at least once before posting and publishing it on your blog.

Check Your Spelling carefully before publishing. Although the tone of your blog should be kept casual for getting good traffic, you should still edit your work. There is a way to be casual, without being sloppy. You should always check your spelling before you submit your post. If your posts are sloppy and full of misspelled words, people will think that you are not educated and probably won’t take anything you say seriously.

Some blogging software comes will a spell check features, while some doesn’t. If your blogging software does not come with any spell check feature, simply create your post in a word processing software and use the spell check there. Then cut and paste your edited work into the blogging software text area. This will allow you to post without spelling errors, which is highly recommended.

11. Blog about, You are Passionate about and Be Versatile

If you want to reach the largest amount of people, you do not need to advertise endlessly. You simply must be versatile with your post topics. Those blogs that cover only one type of thing may be popular with one specific targeted group of people. That is fine, if it is what you want. If you want to reach everyone however, you need to post on everything. Consider posting on current affairs, music, books, and other hot issues. This will draw people in. When you post about popular things in the news, it will draw people to your site when they do a search on the web.

If you are passionate about your topic of writing you are going to stick to it and you will have much blogging content running through out your mind. You will be much prepared for the new articles to publish on your blogs if you are actually passionate about.

12. Get a Simple and Nice Template for your Blog

Selecting a template is not too tough job but you should keep in mind, your topic of blogging while selecting the template. The environment of the template should match your content of the blog. Suppose you are blogging about love and romance then it should be some colorful theme and if you are blogging about some simple ideas or business matters it should be plain and clean looking template. The look and feel of your website says a lot about you.
