Also there are various automated link software programs running on internet that automatically search and send email requests for a link exchange with other websites. But you should always take care of while exchanging links through these programs as most of these sites which they offer for exchanging links are not targeted to your site. You would be only just wasting up your time and energy while visiting and viewing these emails and sites which have no use to you. As these links are not related to your website you can end up getting a lot of replies from websites you have no interest in.

One of the site to which you should avoid exchanging links are called as Link farms. You should keep yourself away from these types of link exchanges. As these websites are strictly set up only to gain link popularity and anyone can just submit their sites to their list without any relativity, you should avoid these practices. Link farms can have thousands of websites who have agreed to do a link exchange.
